10th Padmashree Devilal Samar Smriti Theater Festival concluded yesterday with an outstanding play “Saiyya Bhayee Kotwal” at Lok Kala Mandal’s Muktakashi Rang Manch.

The seven day festival was organized in the joint association of Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, The Performers and Multi Art Cultural Center, Kurukshetra.

Saiyya Bhayee Kotwal is based on a simple storyline that depicts negligence of officials, corruption and using of power for personal (family) benefit. It showcased how higher official of a King misused his powers and appointed his own relative on an important position made vacant after death of the incumbent.

Angered over the new appointment, a candidate deserving the position takes oath of revenge and conspires with his girlfriend to ensure sacking of the negligent officer.

The play was performed by R.C Devend, Mohammad Rizwan Mansoori, Ashfaq Noor Khan Pathan, Amit Shrimali, Shrikrishna Mohta, Vatsalya Ojha, Rajkumar Mogiya, Bhavna Meghwal, Abdul Mobin Khan Pathan, Vinod Pandya and Chiranjeev Ameta.

The play was written by Basant Sabnish and directed by Dr. Laiq Hussain.
