The district environment committee had organized an Environment Awareness Rally today at Lake Fatehsagar. The rally was also backed by Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board. Many environmentalists, educationists and bureaucrats from various departments took part in the gathering.

District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar distributed prizes to the winners of several competitions held recently. The competitions were divided into photography, poster making and reptile rescue.

Padam Singh Rathod and Chaman Singh were awarded for their work as animal rescuers, specifically their expertise in catching snakes. While in photography, Vijay Sawnani and Vivek Issar were honored for catching magnificent pictures of birds, and Tarachand Gawariya won the prize for his photo on natural beauty.

Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti, Bedla received award for poster competition.

Several institutes of Vidya Bhawan joined together to celebrate the World Environment Day today. Nearly 100 members of Vidya Bhawan Prakriti Sadhna Kendra with many students and teachers took part in the program.

President of Vidya Bhawan, Riyaz Tehsin said, “Nobody can solve the problem of environment pollution just by celebrating this day once a year. Environment protection can happen only after we bring changes in our own self.”

He also emphasized on the theme Raise Your Voice, Not The Sea Level.

Employees of Maton Rock Phosphate Mines and Rajpura Dariba Mines of Hindustan Zinc organized plantation at their premises today to celebrate World Environment Day.

Chief of the Maton unit, K.C Meena shared his experience on environment conservation and said that the plastic waste is the biggest threat for environment. Mines manager Amar Singh Gohil and Contractor representative Mohan Paliwal also shared their views.

Nagar Maheshwari Sabha took oath on Environment Day

The social organization Nagar Maheshwari Sabha celebrated World Environment Day and asked its members to take oath to be environment friendly. It was decided that Dr. K.L Samdani will be honored as Environment Friend. He will get the honor on Mahesh Navami Mahotsav.

Street Play by Natyansh Udaipur marks World Environment Day 2014 Street play Jeevan ki Dukan was showcased by the artists of Natyansh today evening at Fateh Sagar. The play was based on Global Warming and spread awareness among the large number of audience. The play was directed by Rekha Sisodia
