The Department of Business Administration of the Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS) is organizing a workshop titled ‘Effective Corporate Governance’ on Saturday, 16^th March. The Dean of the Delhi School of Economics, Professor J.P. Sharma will do the honors as the Keynote Speaker.

The two hour Workshop will begin at 4pm. The Chief Guests of the event will be UCCI President, M.K. Taya and Professor P.K. Jain of MLSU.

The motive of the workshop is to deliberate on efforts towards preventing corporate scams, like the one involving the Satyam Group, which has distressed hundreds and thousands of investors and left a question mark on control of the regulatory bodies of the country and the financial and accounting regulations governing our corporate.

To curb such financial loss, effective corporate governance is necessary. Many developed nations have also faced such scams, but they reformed their laws and took stern action against companies; however, in India no development seems to have happened in this regard.

Attendees at the Workshop will get knowledge of management in such special conditions. Industry leaders, Chartered Accountants, faculty members and students will take part in the workshop.

Keynote speaker Professor J.P. Sharma has served as an advisor to the President of India. He has also participated in various International events as Chief Authority on the subject.
