World Living Heritage 2014 begins
With the motive of preserving the living heritage and encouraging youth to get connected with it, a World Living Heritage Festival 2014 was started today in City Palace. The colorful event was inaugurated by François Richier, Ambassador of France to India.

The festival is organized by Maharana Mewar Charitable Trust in association with UNESCO, New Delhi.
Rang – The workshop, Photography Exhibition and an International Seminar were started today on the first day of a four-day long festival.
While addressing the seminar, Shreeji Arvid Singh Mewar, President of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation emphasized on how to widen the preservation of heritage. He said, “The heritage of any country gets its life, if the culture of that country subsists.”
He added, “We just don’t intend to develop tourism in Udaipur but want to see the city growing in every field.”
Moe Chiba, of UNESCO spoke about cultural exchange between the neighboring countries of China, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Professor Vinaysheel Gautam, chairman of D.K International Foundation also put forward his thought on Trusteeship and Governance.
Educationists, experts and researchers from India and abroad also shared their views on the Living Heritage.
A book ‘Concept Publication on Udaipur as a Living Heritage City’ was also unveiled by the present guests. The book is complied with the joint association of Maharana Mewar Charitable Trust, UNESCO and Public Representatives.
The workshop Rang was dedicated to the local and traditional craftsmen and was organized by Lokalart.com, an e-commerce company.
Artists from all genres including miniature, terracotta, thikri, kavad, sangmarmar, nail art demonstrated their work.
A photography exhibition depicting the city life of Strasbourg (France) and Udaipur also attracted the visitors. 50 selected photos by Albert Huber and Anuradha Saroop were set on display.
French Amabassador François Richier inaugurated the workshop and photography exhibition and was accompanied with Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar.
