A school teacher lodged a complaint at Dhanmandi Police station of alleged online fraud. Fraudsters duped her of Rs 10000 via fake KYC call.
The victim, Chandralekha Jain, is a teacher at Residency School. On Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm she received a call from fraudster who introduced himself as bank manager of SBI. He then told her that her KYC (Know your customer) needs updating and asked her details mentioned on her ATM card. He then asked her to share the six digit code that came on her mobile phone. The lady gave him the six digit number. She then got a message on her phone that Rs 10000 has been debited towards a payment made on Paytm.
Realising the fraud, the lady immediately got her card blocked. She then lodged a complaint at Dhanmandi Police station.
