A running truck caught fire on Tuesday night at Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway. The driver jumped out to save himself. It has been reported that fire brigade reached 3 hours late and by then the entire truck and the goods inside had burnt to ashes. Since it was highway, traffic jam could be seen at both sides.
The truck driver was on his way to Pune from Udaipur. His residence is on the same route hence he stopped for some time and then moved ahead. He had barely reached Banjaria College in Kherwada when the truck caught fire due to short circuit. As per the driver, he was helpless as the fire spread quickly. He had to jump to save his own life. He then informed the fire brigade as there was traffic lined up on both sides of the highway. But the fire brigade could reach only 3 hours later. The remains of the truck were removed with the help of crane to reorganise the traffic on the highway.
