In a swift action, Udaipur Police has managed to solve the case of daylight firing that happened in Nehru Bazaar on 16-July within a week. In solving this case, Police also managed to solve the case of 3 other firing incidents in the city.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Harsh Ratnoo informed that they have managed to nab the people behind the last 4 firing incidents in the city. The arrested include Bheema s/o Indra Singh, Idrees s/o Sharif Sheikh and Nahid s/o Abdul Gaffar. It may be noted that another accused Pankaj Sahni s/o Vishweshwar Sahni was arrested on 16-July itself when the firing happened on Kannu Kumawat on 16-July. Another accused in the case, Aditya Kumar s/o Madan Pratap Singh, however is still beyond Police reach.
Mastermind behind all these firings has been identified as noted criminal Azam. He has been out of Police reach.
In their investigation, Pankaj took Police to Chamapalal Dharamshala where Aditya was staying. At this location, Police found a bank passbook that showed Rs 40,000 transferred from Azam’s account to Aditya in tranches of Rs 5000 on 23-May. After 28-May, there have been four cases of firing in the city. Besides the bank transfer, Azam also used to send cash to Aditya via Idrees.
Different rates for different purpose
For firing cases that were meant to only threaten people, Azam used to pay Rs 15000 to Aditya Kumar, Rs 5000 to Bheema and Rs 2000 to Pankaj. However, for cases like Kannu Kumawat’s firing where the intention was to kill him, Azam promised to pay Rs 50000.
Azam had also ordered Aditya and Bhima to fire on Inayat Pinjara, Imran Kunjara and their family members. Aditya and Bhima however could not find the right situation and hence the firing did not happen.
Bheema informed that he, along with Idrees and Nahid and followed Kannu for 2-3 days and had tried killing him but did not find the right situation. The firing eventually happened on 16-July but Kannu was saved by the window glass and the bullet hit his arm instead of his head, as planned.
The arrested people have accepted their role in the firing on Kannu Kumawat, businessman in Madhuban, Registry office firing and firing in Savina.
