Strike of garbage pickers against contract agencies has become troublesome for the patients in MB hospital. Even people accompanying the patients are finding it difficult to manage with all areas waiting to be cleaned.
With almost a week of the strike, every corner of the hospital is dirty and stinking. Even the lawns where families of the patients go for relaxation are full of dirt. The wash rooms are full of unbearable stench. The corridors have waste lying alongside the walls.
The paediatric department is also extremely dirty which may lead to an increase in infection in the children. Discussions are constantly going on between labour representatives and hospital administration, but no result has yet been achieved. If this condition continues, then hospitals will see more of infection than relief.
