The weather in Udaipur has been fluctuating, causing an increase in diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Typhoid, Jaundice, viral infections, and Diarrhea. One day it's cloudy, while the next day is hot and humid. Light showers were seen recently, but not enough rain to cool down the city. These conditions have become favourable for bacteria, viruses, and fungi to spread.

MB Hospital Faces Patient Overflow

MB Hospital in Udaipur is witnessing a surge in patients, leading to overcrowded wards. Due to the lack of beds, many patients are being treated on mattresses placed on the floor. Long queues begin forming at the registration and medicine counters as soon as the OPD opens at 8:00 a.m., continuing until the OPD closes at 2:00 p.m.

Sharp Rise in Daily Patient Numbers

A total of 46,824 patients visited the OPD at MB Hospital in the last seven days, while 3,678 patients were admitted during the same period.

The medicine OPD is seeing 500-600 patients daily, compared to the usual 350-400 patients. Ear, nose, and throat infections have also increased, with 200-250 patients visiting the ENT OPD every day. This situation is expected to continue for another 15-20 days until the rains stop and colder weather sets in.

Preventive Measures to Stay Safe

The rainy season has also led to stagnant water, which is causing an increase in mosquitoes, flies, and related diseases like vomiting, Diarrhea, Malaria, Chikungunya, and Dengue. People with allergies are also experiencing more problems. To prevent mosquito bites, it is advised to use mosquito nets, wear full-body covering clothes, and keep windows and doors closed with screens. Ensuring cleanliness and avoiding stagnant water is key to staying safe.
