Forest department has been making efforts to conserve forests. There on the other hand, trees are being cut for hotel construction.

One such incident has come to light on one of the hills opposite to Amrakhji temple area. The land has reportedly been allotted to some hotel group who is now cutting off all trees. 40 labourers are working on this land and the greenery is being inhumanly attacked.

As reported by some devotees who frequently visit the temple at Amrakhji, the hills and forests around this area are home to panthers. The area from the hills in front and behind the temple, Amberi hills and upto Udaisagar is panther zone. Destroying these forests will actually destroy the natural habitat of panthers which would force the wild life to head to the city in absence of food and water. People are against hotel construction in this area.

Amrakhji Conservation Committee had approached Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria for this purpose while he was on a visit to Chirwa. As per the secretary of this committee, the panchayats of this area are struggling to keep the forests safe. The committee has demanded that strict action be taken and the construction of hotel be stopped as the forests will get completely destroyed due to hotel activities.
