Ayad River Development to cost Rs. 907 Crores

As per the recently submitted interim Detail Project Report (DPR) by Wapcos Consultants Company, nearly Rs. 907 crores needs to be spent on proposed development of Ayad River. Representatives of the company met with UIT Chairman, Roop Kumar Khurana, after their survey of various areas en route the 26 kms. long stretch of the river.

As per the recently submitted interim Detail Project Report (DPR) by Wapcos Consultants Company, nearly Rs. 907 crores needs to be spent on proposed development of Ayad River. Representatives of the company met with UIT Chairman, Roop Kumar Khurana, after their survey of various areas en route the 26 kms. long stretch of the river.

In the meeting today, UIT Chairman suggested to install small water treatment plants on empty government lands on both sides of the river, along with parks and gardens to make it scenic from tourism point of view.

S.R. Sahran of Wapcos Company informed that the final DPR of this project will be provided by June 2013, in which the design of treatment plant and overview of garden space along the river stretch will be explained.

In their survey held on 28th April, the company has taken detailed information of the amount of sewerage wastes dumped into river, along with segregation of category of wastes, including industrial, hotel and household waste.

Roop Kumar Khurana said, “Upon receiving the final DPR of the project, the same will be forwarded to Jaipur for approval of budgeted amount and other due sanctions”.
