A delegation of Bohra youth women with ward councilor Rehana Germanwala protested in front of the Additional District Magistrate’s office with the copies of the City Magistrates order in hand.
The verdict is to open the doors at both the ends of the Sayedi Lukman Saheeb Dargah at Boharwadi, which was issued a couple of days back but is not being acted upon by the administration.
Borah Youth alleged that the west and east side doors of the Dargah are intentionally closed by the members of the Shabaab Group and the doors are used by both the communities to offer prayers at the Dargah and this is an offence against the Civil Rights.
An FIR is lodged by Yusuf Ali R.G, Secretary of the Bohra Youth community regarding violation of the Civil Rights at the Dhanmandi Police Station, which is being looked into by the concerned Police department and the verdict of the District Magistrate, which came on July 17, to open both the doors as both the communities can offer their prayers.
Bohra (Youth) said that besides the orders of the Magistrate, the other community is not opening the doors of the Dargah which is contempt of the court’s verdict.
Today being a holiday at the District Headquarters, the ADM (City) Office was closed but the Bohra (Youth) community demanded that they won’t go without talking to the Magistrate and the situation become tense as the Police arrived on the scene.
Few ladies of the community got violent and demanded that without ADM (City’s) intervention they will not leave the place.
After knowing the situation, Mohammed Yaseen Patan ADM(city) arrived and talked to the representatives and said that the verdict has been misunderstood by the Police officials that’s why they are not intervening in the matter and he said “and if there is any confusion you can write an application to the concerning police station and they will do the needful.”
SHO Dhanmandi was called to the ADM (city)’s office.
Mohammad Yaseen Pathan (ADM) City: Administration advised both the communities to live in peace and harmony so that law and order in the area should be maintained and they should solve their issues by mutual understanding and co-operation.
