Dr. Arvinder responds over Allegation, confident of his ReportDenying all allegations put by the patient’s family over the alleged diagnosis report which led to the surgery of a female patient on September 22. Dr Arvinder Singh, Director of Amolak Diagnostic Centre responded to justify the report of sonography and claimed that it was flawless and it is a duty of concerned surgeon to take further step rather than pointing or depending on sonography report only.

In an email conversation with UdaipurTimes.com, Dr. Arvinder Singh stated, “The findings mentioned on sonography observations are all correct and has been confirmed by findings of exploratory laparotomy done by doctor at Saifee Burhani Hospital and mentioned in official discharge card of patient. (eg finding of blood in peritoneal cavity and extremely vascular Left Tube).”

Dr. Singh clearly mentioned that, “The decision of operation rests with operating doctor and no suggestion was given by diagnostic centre for the surgery.”

Dr. Arvinder Singh also stated, “Patient was positive for pregnancy test on 21st Sep and beta HCG level done on 22nd Sep 2012 was 359.3 which is approximately 70 times more than normal value highly suggestive of pregnancy.”

He explained further, “The test reports are mentioned in doctor’s form and discharge card slip. Patient also had previous history of ectopic pregnancy. All above mentioned facts can be verified as per Saifee Burhani hospital records. On this basis USG was done and no evidence of pregnancy found in uterine cavity (Place of normal pregnancy) so as per medical norms Radiologist has no choice except to raise the possibility of ectopic pregnancy.”

Dr. Singh says, “In the report only suggestion was given and big question mark was put before mentioning ectopic and as per medical norms, clinician has to further confirm it before taking decision.”

“The steps for further confirmation before surgery are raising level of beta HCG in blood, needle aspiration (Culdocentesis) and Laparoscopic visualization of tube. Clinician wants to confirm or wants to go for surgery is the decision of clinician and diagnostic centre cannot be blamed for so called “Misery” of patient”, added Dr. Singh.

Responding the allegation of wrong report, Dr. Singh said “There is no evidence which clearly depicts that there is no ectopic pregnancy because biopsy reports competency has not been taken into account and moreover selection of tissue piece for biopsy also play pivotal role for clinching the diagnosis.”

It is sure that patient pregnancy test is positive before sonography and is well mentioned in clinician notes. But at this time, no mention of pregnancy sac is there in any record. So where is the pregnancy right now and needs further investigations.”
