‘Flame of Truth’ mission reaches Udaipur

The relay procession of ‘Flame of Truth’ reached Udaipur today morning and the group carrying it will be conducting a candle-march on Monday, 8th October, to showcase their cause and augment support for their demands of better Tibet.

The relay procession, which started on July 6 2012,  is being carried out in multiple nations simultaneously and will go on till 10th Dec, 2012.

In the words of Karma Yeshi, Member, Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, “China has been ruling Tibet for a very long time and is ill-treating Tibetan residents.  The people of Tibet, though, are still patronizing their Religion, Culture, Language and Nationality in a bid to conserve these values and identity”.

The movement of ‘Flame of Truth’ began on July 6, which was also the 77th birthday of Dalai Lama.  The torch has so far travelled across 24 states and 100 towns in India over the 3 month period.

This initiative is being coordinated in the same pattern across more than 30 countries in North America, Europe, South-east Asia, Africa, and Australia.

The major motto behind this movement is to present a petition to The United Nations, seeking renewal of discussions on the issue of Tibet based on the resolutions passed in year 1959, 1961 and 1965 and to continuously make efforts to fulfill the substance of these resolutions.

Also, as per the petition, there should be an independent observing body to look into the present crisis in Tibet.  The UN Nations should take the responsibility to ensure the basic aspirations of the Tibet residents inside Tibet to be fulfilled.

The movement of “Flame of Truth” will conclude after collecting ‘signatures-of-favor’ from every country the procession has been to till 10 December.  The petition along with the support signatures will be submitted to the UN Headquarters in New York City, UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and UN information office in New Delhi.
