An Illegal construction at Ambavgarh locality has evolved as a Hotel for commercial use, although construction was ceased by Municipal Corporation and Anti Corruption Bureau of Udaipur.

According to Mohammad Shakil, resident of Ambavgarh objected on the construction after giving plea in court. Shakil while addressing a press conference informed that, the property went under construction for past three years, while in year 2012 the owner was notified from court that construction would be for residential purpose only.

“At present the owner is operating Hotel Girnar Villa on that very site”, added Mohammad Shakil. In year 2012 Udaipur Municipal Corporation had ceased construction, as the locality falls under No- Construction Zone. However, the owner overlooked UMC’s notice and continued construction claiming it to be a residential apartment.

In August 2013 Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) taking action against the alleged illegal construction stopped work on site, where a floor was added which included basement, ground and first floor.

Mohammad Shakil further informed that a case has been lodged against owner of the Hotel. Moreover a parallel petition is also been filed with District Collector, who in his last hearing notified that the case will be solved within 15 days.
