Students of the Government Middle School, Amal Ka Kanta are forced to study in horrible conditions as the plaster on the walls is washed out and the stones are jutting out from the walls. The irony here is that the school had obtained a sanction of Rs 4 Lac 13 Thousand in the year 2002 from Bikaner under the 11th Financial Commission.

Students of the Government Middle School, Amal Ka Kanta are forced to study in horrible conditions as the plaster on the walls is washed out and the stones are jutting out from the walls. The irony here is that the school had obtained a sanction of Rs 4 Lac 13 Thousand in the year 2002 from Bikaner under the 11th Financial Commission.

There is a total of 90 students in the school. Even after 10 years, the open toilets just in front of the classes are provoking health hazards. Even they are causing a threat of insecurity among the girls of the school. No electricity is there in the building as the building has lost its original structure.

According to the students, water is filled in the rooms during rains as a result of which the students and teachers are forced to empty the water on their own. Also, snakes and other poisonous animals come out during the rains which creates a fear of being bitten by them.

Earlier the school was sanctioned a 5,000 sq feet land in Ward Number 26. Later, when the wards changed the allotted land shifted to Ward 21 whereas the school building is in Ward 22. The whole matter has become a political issue due to which the students are the only sufferers.

“I have sent the application to the UIT on 15/7/2013 and they have assured to do the needful”, said the headmistress of the school.

In a meeting held on 28th June at Municipal Corporation, the local area corporator has demanded land for the school and was assured by the Mayor but no action has been taken yet.
