M.B. College cricket ground ‘A’ is one among the very few arenas available for cricketers of Udaipur, created and maintained by MLSU Sports Board; pavilion and changing of the stadium is in miserable conditions since long time, and those responsible are unaware of the fact.

This ground is rented for a number of community sports and even used for Inter-University annual matches; an amount of around Rs. 4000 per day is charged for the tournaments other than the in-house ones.

Sources informed that around 120 bookings on an average for the year are taken by the sports board, against which 2 ground staff are appointed for maintaining the pitch and trimming grasses in the ground.

As far maintenance of pavilion is concern, consideration of the management is negligible. Though, upon asking of the wretched conditions of pavilion, sports board secretary immediately buzzed the sweeping staff.

“It is being cleaned on monthly basis by the specially hired sweepers, we will make sure that sweeping of the pavilion is done more frequently”, said D. S. Chundawat, Chairman, MLSU Sports Board.

According to the sources M.B. ‘A’ ground has also hosted number of Ranji matches and matches of Sukhadia League. Last year the ground was in a process of being adopted by Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), which was later overlooked due to protest from students.
