Janardhan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (JRNRVU) has been ranked second amongst universities and educational institutions in India in terms of the patent applications that have been filed.
As per the latest annual report (2014-15) released from the Office of Controller General of Patents, Design, Trademark and Geographical Indications, JRNRVU ranks second with a total of 53 applications that have been filed for patent. It ranks behind the IITs (combined) that have a total of 337 applications filed for patent. Interestingly, JRNRVU ranks above the prestigious Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc).
Vice Chancellor, JRNRVU, Prof SS Sarangdevot said that this ranking is a result of aggressive push over the last four years to focus on innovative research. He said that focus will now shift towards international patent filing for which a multi-dimensional strategy would be designed.
