Thinking out of the box, three students of The Study school devised a solar powered vehicle, completely independent of any external source of help, and out of sheer passion for the subject of science.

The three students, Hariyashva Rathore, Abhay Raj, and Vipul Tak, are all currently studying in grade 12th at The Study. They built this car in a bid to demonstrate how sustainable vehicular transport of the future is going to work. The students showed sensitivity towards the current state of our environment and how we must try everything we can to reverse the environmental degradation.

As per information received from the school authority, the students worked tirelessly for 28 days, putting in 4 hours every day to realize their vision of the solar car. They invested only Rs. 11,500 in getting the final version ready. The car has a tadpole design, with a total power of 250 watts, and it can reach a top speed of 58 kilometres per hour. The car can travel a distance of up to 85 kilometers once fully charged.

Hirvashya, Abhay, and Vipul showed a great technical understanding of the science involved in manufacturing of a vehicle. As basic as the design may be, it represents a significant step in their dreams of hoping to make the world a better place to live in in the future.

Prepared at Aara Machine in Badgoan, Udaipur, the car has won prizes at Pacific University and the District Exhibition among many other platforms.

The faculty and administrative staff at The Study said that “We are proud of the efforts of our young, bright students, and hope to see this as a catalyst for many of our other students to come out and find creative expression in whatever they are passionate about.
