Hunger, which is viewed as a dimension of extreme poverty was taken up as a project by the students of Seedling – The World School.
Seedling -The World School has taken an initiative in the form of a project to view this critical problem which is not only a Global issue but National as well as a local issue.

The project- “Farm to Fork ” has taught the young learners different skills. From ploughing field to seed dispersal to learning about different techniques of farming. The main aim was to teach the students hard work which is put by the farmers to grow veggies. Secondly, through this hands on activity the school also taught the students to promote local employment.
Students applied what they had learned in the classroom to their own dinner plates by creating a meal based on principles of health and sustainability that are attentive to personal, local, and global considerations.
This project examined how modern food production and distribution affects health, the environment, and the planet. In the final assignment the students brought together all of the concepts they had learned about nutrition and sustainability to create a meal in their school kitchen that reflects these principles. Students planned, shopped, cooked, and ate together as a team.
Through this project the lesson that the students learnt was – it takes fraction of seconds to put food in bins, but it takes months for the same food to grow.
They even pledged that henceforth they would never waste food.
