An Alleged love affair ended with a tragedy here at Udaipur on Thursday after a 19 year old girl and a 22 year old boy has were found drowned at the Badi Talab of the city.
The couple was missing since 8 days and girl’s father has lodged missing person compliant at the local police station, the dead bodies were found with their hands tied up together with a cloth. Later the bodies were shifted to mortuary for postmortem.
According to DySP Ranu Sharma she got the information about the bodies on Thursday morning at around 9 o’clock from a resident of Badi. The Station House Officer of Nai Police station Raghuveer Singh and his team, after seeing the dead bodies floating in the water were pulled out with hours of efforts of the rescue team. The deceased were identified as Bharat Khatik of Khatikwada and Kirti of Dholi Bawadi area.
Bharat’s father Mahendra informed that both the victims liked each other and were allegedly having close friendship since years but were unhappy as the parents of both of them did not approve of their relationship; following that, they left the house 8 days back and were not found.
Victim girl’s father also raised doubt on Bharat for taking her daughter away after which a police had started searching them during which, their last mobile location was found at Chittorgarh. After that on Wednesday both of them were seen roaming at Badi village area and on Thursday morning their dead bodies were found drowning in the Badi Talab (pound),DySP said.
The dead bodies were shifted to mortuary of Nai area and later handed over to their relatives.
