After a massive reduction in the number of COVID positive cases across Udaipur after March 2022, the district has once again picked up in the number of positive cases being reported.
With near zero cases being reported between 18 March and 10 June, the numbers picked up. While single digit cases were being reported till 11 July, the positive cases per day entered the double digit mark. Udaipur reported its highest single day positive at 21 cases over a period of 5 months. The number of active cases have crossed 100 (104), with the last three digit active cases being reported on 3 March.
Social distancing protocols have taken the back seat since January this year and activities are back to normal. However, with the rising cases, and the rising positivity rates despite vaccine doses and booster doses, the COVID demon seems to be rearing its head once again.
The airport and international travel regulations pertaining to RTPCR have been done away with some time back. However it is important for local residents, senior citiens as well as those travelling to Udaipur from international destinations after a long wait of 2 years to take care of their wellbeing.
