On 22 nd August, 2022,Hidustan Zinc (vendanta group) organized a rally to raise awareness of the need to combat the injustice of 'Child marriage:; According to humanity children have the right to live their childhood and on other side the social evil like child marriage is still now prevailing in the society. Both girls and boys who marry as children experience mental, emotional, and physical problems. Girls are typically the ones who are more physically impacted, and there is a significant chance that sexually transmitted diseases may spread. Before the age of 18 for girls and 21 for boys, child marriage is
prohibited.

Rallies were held, and more than one lakh people from 550 grams panchayat in six districts of Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, took an oath to refrain from child marriage. The initiative was coordinated by Hindustan Zinc with assistance from Vidya Bhavan, NDS, Seva Mandir, The Football Link, Japan, and the GSVS Manjari Foundation. Support for this prestigious event was provided by BIAF, Ambuja Cement, Srishti, Tata Strive, Resonance Koswi, Deaf School, Care, Deepak Foundation, Wockhardt Foundation, Vedanta Foundation, Hanuman Van Vikas Samiti, and Youngmunk.

Since the passage of the Child Marriage Prohibition Act initiated 90 years ago, the government has pledged to keep up its efforts to prohibit this custom. Child marriages are very famous in village areas.
