Official sources said that while four new medical colleges are coming up in 2022, five more are scheduled to be set up in 2023.

Organs will be transplanted from brain dead patients with their families' permission through online centers being developed by the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO). This program helps those in need of organs who occasionally do not receive them in a timely manner. Establishing online centers would help the organs reach the needy quickly because it is difficult to transport a patient from one hospital to another. The approved hospitals will perform the organ transplants. New hospitals across Udaipur, Jaipur,Kota and Jodhpur will be authorised for organ transplant.

A private hospital in Udaipur recently saved the lives of three patients by getting authorization to transplant organs. Since SMS Hospital was permitted to recover organs, a team from that institution travelled to Udaipur to retrieve the organs. The organs were transported to Jaipur, where two kidneys and a liver were transplanted to the recipients.

If a patient is declared brain-dead in a hospital, which is not authorized for organ retrieval, the organs will go to waste as it is quite difficult for such patients to be transported to the hospital authorized for organ retrieval as the patient may collapse. Such patients are mostly in ICUs. so expanding organ retrieval centers will help in saving organs from being wasted and they may save life of patients.” - Official
