social experiment done by Atul Khera and his friend has once again proved what feminists have been fighting for, the right to wear whatever any gender wants without the stereotypes and clichéd thinking that follows. While we have grown a little considerate and manage to acknowledge women in jeans and pants, when the tables are reversed, the scenario remains extremely narrow-minded. Here is hoping that the future holds a better and less judgmental society that appreciates people irrespective of what they are wearing

2 men support cross-dressing | Wear skirts instead of pants

Internet brings out the LOL effect where pictures of men wearing skirts instead of pants pulled in a lot of viewers. 2 men support cross-dressing instead of the regular men’s wear.

Atul Khera(Team leader at Pravah ICS-International Citizen Service) and his friend uploaded their pictures on the net in which they are wearing skirts to support cross-dressing in the coolest way possible. Atul Khera based in Delhi and his friend ditched the pants and wore skirts and posed in metro and various other public places. Men are expected to look macho and wearing female dresses for men has been looked down upon, be it India or other countries. Women wearing pants is a normal and acceptable sight but catching men in female clothes has not been taken in a positive spirit anywhere.

Atul and his friend have tried to break the norm and donned skirts to send a loud message to public  that highlighted the hypocritical expectations of men being masculine. In his blog Atul expressed how he became the centre of everyone’s attention when he moved out wearing women’s skirts. He also said that he doesn’t wish to challenge the society, he just wants to prove that he is not a hypocrite.

Atul said, “I did not intend to do a social experiment. My expectations were not to learn anything from it. I did not intend to challenge the stereotypes in society, but I did. I am society. I wanted to prove that I am not a hypocrite. I did not intend to grab attention; I didn’t even make eye contact with anyone, it was “not following the stereotype” which brought attention. Who knew that it would give my mind a new dimension of perspective that I had just touched upon before this day.”
