Demand to convert Sarada into district

The biggest non-political rally was seen in Sarada yesterday when the public rallied demanding District status for Sarada. Political leaders, who haven’t worked till now in this direction were criticized and warned that if they did not support the rally and its motive, then all political leaders will be pushed away from the posts and would soon stand in the category of former leader/politician.

The assembly for this purpose took place at Gandhi Chowk where thousands of people got together at 11:30am.  After the assembly, people rallied towards Divisional Office, which was 1 ½ km away from Gandhi Chowk.  A notice was served to SDM Naresh Bunkar and District officer Balkrishna Kalal.  The orators said that they were fighting to get back the self-respect, pride and rights of the people of Sarada.  They demanded that the district be named after Maharana Pratap.  Some officers also said that they would stand in favor of only those who will look after the welfare of the district.

Sangharsh Samiti Director, Dalchand Jain, Secretary Mukesh Sharma, Vice-Sarpanch Aaga khan, Manakchand Jain, Kachrulal Kumhar, Kamal Singh Shaktawat, Rajendra Jain, DInesh Darji, BJP Rural District Vice-President Nathu Lal Jain and many others addressed the issue.

Sarada block/Tehsil is a part of Udaipur district and consists of about 193 villages.  It is surrounded by Girwa on the North, Kherwara on the West and Salumber on the East, while its borders with Dungarpur District on the South.  Rajasthan consists of 33 Districts as of date.  Jaisalmer is the largest district of Rajasthan in terms of area spanning 38,401 sqkm while Jaipur is the largest in terms of population, with approximately 66lakhs residing in the District (2011 Census numbers).

The entire rally proved true the famous lines of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar “सिंहासन खाली करो जनता आ रही है”…
