Chittorgarh experienced the most horrifying Sunday of 2018. A panther entered the city area around 6:15 a.m. creating 13 hours of terror for the residents. As per reports, the panther entered a residential area early morning and moved from one point to the other which was good enough a reason to scare the public. Then it went towards police station area at 10:30 a.m. and stayed there until it was rescued by forest department.

The residential area has enough hiding place for the panther, hence it kept on shifting. Initially it had entered a house and hid behind a sofa. When the lady of the house was in the process of cleaning the house, she mistook the tail of the panther as that of some harmless animal but when she tired to hush the animal out, it turned out to be a panther. When the lady shouted for help, the panther tried to jump out but it dashed against the wall as it slipped on the plastic table. People heard the sound of the lady shouting and also the thud as the panther hit the wall and gathered around the house. The panther then ran out of the house and went inside another house. From there it later headed to police station.

Forest department and police department tried to trap the panther empty handed but it pounced on them and injured 2 of the forest department members. The funny part was that the forest department did not come prepared to trap the panther. They had a tranquiliser gun, but no shooter with them. They did not even have the tranquilisers with them. A shooter was then called from Udaipur who finally tranquilised the panther after 13 hours at 7:38 p.m.

It is quite shocking as to how the panther entered the city area when there is no forest near the city area.
