Thieves made away with Rs 40,000 cash and jewelry worth Rs 200,000 while a passenger was sleeping in Udaipur-Khajuraho Intercity express. The incident happened between Kishangarh and Jaipur stations.

Kamal Jain, husband of the victim Sangeeta Jain, informed that they had boarded Udaipur-Khajuraho Intercity express from Ajmer for going to Gwalior. They had boarded on seat number 26, 27 and 29 in coach S-5. Sangeeta had put her purse inside the blanket on her seat. The purse had jewelry and cash worth Rs 40,000/-.

The family fell asleep somewhere near Kishangarh on Friday morning. When they woke up at Jaipur station, they found Sangeeta’s purse missing.

They immediately informed Jaipur GRP staff. The GRP staff at Jaipur said that if they have to lodge a complaint then they will have to get down at Jaipur station. Since the family was going to Gwalior for a wedding and had a lot of luggage with them, they could not get down mid-way. The Jaipur GRP refused to lodge the complaint.
