In a major robbery incident, highway robbers intercepted a car on Udaipur Ahmedabad highway and made away with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 3 Crores.

The incident happened last night about 1 km away from Tidi Police station on Udaipur Ahmedabad highway. 3 people were taking 470kg Silver and 1.5kg Gold from Rajkot to Agra. At 2am in the night, in movie-style robbery, robbers stopped their vehicles and threw chilly powder in the eyes of the three passengers. The passengers were then moved into a separate vehicle at gunpoint. The robbers then took the passenger’s vehicle and fled off. The passengers were thrown off about 4 kms away from a separate vehicle.

The passengers then walked their way to Tidi Police station and narrated the incident. Police has put checkposts throught the state and is checking the cctv footage at toll plazas and hotels along the highway.

The 3 victims have been supplying gold and silver to jewellers from Rajkot to Agra for last 13 years. For this, they had created special boxes beneath their seats.

It is clear from the incident that the robbers had been tracking the 3 victims and had well planned this entire robbery.
