The most famous 9-storeyed tower in historical place Chittorgarh (which is around 2 hours from Udaipur) is to be closed for maintenance for a long period. Victory Tower or the Vijay Stambh will be closed for a period of 3 months as it needs to be cleaned up. Tourists visiting Chittorgarh will be disappointed this season as they will not be able to enter the tower.

As per information received by Archaeological department, five out of the 9 floors of the Victory Tower need to be washed using chemicals and this process will require at least 3 months. The date for the process has not yet been finalised. Approval has been taken from the headquarters of Archaeological Survey of India for cleaning up the floors of the tower. It may be noted that 2 floors of the Victory Tower were cleaned some time back. Prior to this, the tower was closed for a year for the clean-up process which was not done and this had become a great issue as it disturbed tourism of Chittorgarh. It was re-opened for tourists only after the visit of Chief Minister this year in 2018 (reportedly, this was after a period of keeping it closed for 22 months).
