Salumbar MLA Amrit Lal Meena

BJP MLA Amrit Lal Meena raised concerns about corruption in the Udaipur Cooperative Department. The Chief Minister's Office responded by instructing an investigation into the matter. Meena submitted a detailed five-page complaint outlining 17 points across different areas to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Upon receiving the complaint from Salumbar MLA, the Chief Minister's Office directed the Cooperative Department Secretary to probe the corruption allegations mentioned in the MLA's complaint. The office also kept the MLA informed about the actions being taken.

Meena highlighted various irregularities, including inflated crop insurance claims compared to actual loan distribution amounts in several cooperative bank branches namely Lasadiya, Dhariyawad, Sarada, Salumber, Bhinder. He also cited instances of fake loan distributions and waivers, along with construction scams involving tractors and warehouses in Rajsamand district. About 70 tractors and nearly 100 warehouses were built in Rajsamand district. He alleges that of the various scams involving crores of rupees in commission, over Rs 2 Crores were wrongly spent in the Udaipur Cooperative Consumer Wholesale Store under the guise of a fake clean water project. Supplies were colluded with businessmen without proper tenders, fake taxi bills and bills of chowki guards led to discrepancies.

The MLA raised a complaint that these officers have grown so attached to Udaipur that they have stayed here for years. He mentioned that some have been here for five years, others for 10 to 15 years. He urged the Chief Minister to have corruption complaints in the cooperative department directly investigated by the ACB and not by the department itself.

In addition to MLA Meena, Valchand Suthar, the media coordinator of the BJP Rural Farmers' Front, also lodged complaints. He urged an ACB investigation, highlighting 17 points. Suthar emphasized the seriousness of the issues, suggesting that the department itself shouldn't handle the investigation, but rather the ACB. Allegations of fraudulent activities concerning tractors were also mentioned. The BJP MLAs from Udaipur district were informed about these complaints.
