Stray Dogs Ear Notch

To address the increasing number of stray dogs and related complaints in Udaipur, Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash held a significant meeting with officials from the Animal Aid organization. Residents have been raising concerns about dog bites and the growing population of stray dogs.

Incidents of dog bites, particularly involving children, are common in the city. To combat this issue, the organization is working diligently to speed up the sterilization process of stray dogs.

Meeting Highlights

During the meeting, crucial information about the progress of dog sterilization was discussed. The Animal Aid representative reported that 5,885 stray dogs  have been sterilized so far, with about 17 dogs sterilized daily. Efforts are ongoing to increase this number to better control the stray dog population.

Focus on Female Dogs

Officials emphasized that female dogs are prioritized during the sterilization process. After sterilization, an ear notch is made on the dog's ear. This helps identify dogs that have already undergone the procedure.

Helpline for Residents

In addition, Commissioner Ram Prakash announced a helpline number 9929864454, issued by the Animal Aid organization. City residents can call this number for assistance in sterilizing stray dogs near their homes. The residents are encouraged to participate in this initiative for a safer community.
