Leopard Attack on milkman

Udaipur, October 5, 2024 - In continuing attack attempts on people by leopards, yesterday, October 4, 2024, a milkman in Dhool village of the Gogunda block, managed to evade such an attack by speeding away on his motorcycle.

The incident took place at 7:30 pm near the Sayra forest range. Kaloo Singh, a resident of Sardarapura village, was on his way to deliver milk and at about 1 km from the government school in Dhool, he spotted a leopard in the light of his bike’s headlight. Quickly recovering from his fright, the man accelerated his vehicle and sped away. The animal chased after him for about 20 feet but he managed to escape safely.

Meanwhile, around 2:30 am on Friday night, in an incident near the bus stand in Dhool village, a leopard attacked some cows in a shed. It pounced on a calf, injuring its leg and ear, causing it to bleed. Hearing the cows' distress call, the people woke up and rushed out with sticks, frightening the leopard off.

In light of these incidents, the Forest Department has intensified its search for the leopard and an Emergency Response Team (ERT) has been activated.
