The Udaipur Municipal Corporation has started taking daily action to remove permanent and temporary encroachments in the city. This initiative has been launched in preparation for the upcoming festive season. Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash has instructed officials to immediately clear all encroachments across the city.

Encroachments Cleared

On Monday, September 23,2024, officials from the Municipal Corporation, along with the police, removed street vendors and shop encroachments along the public road from Delhi Gate Police Control Room to Dhanmandi Police Station. Municipal Police Inspector Mangilal Dangi, along with Revenue Inspectors Vijay Jain and Rahul Meena, led the operation.

Vegetable carts parked on the road and goods placed in front of shops were removed to ensure smooth traffic. Ten carts were seized under Section 245 of the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 2009, as they were obstructing the road.

Local Residents Raised Concerns

Local residents had raised concerns about traffic disruptions due to these encroachments. After the operation, the flow of traffic in the Dhanmandi area improved, providing relief to the public.

The commissioner highlighted that during the festive season, many people from nearby rural areas visit Udaipur, leading to heavy traffic on the roads. Encroachments by vendors and shops block important routes, causing frequent complaints from the public. In response, the Revenue and Encroachment Departments have been tasked with daily enforcement.
