Hariyali Amavasya Festival Celebration in Udaipur

In light of the upcoming Hariyali Amavasya on July 17-18, 2023, a notable change has been introduced by the Municipal Corporation regarding the tender process. Traditionally, tenders for various activities were conducted through open bidding. However, this time, a new approach has been embraced, as online tenders have been extended to all interested parties. The operators are now required to submit their applications exclusively through the online platform. Moreover, the allocation of shops and stalls, among other offerings, will also be accomplished through the means of online tendering.

During the auspicious occasion of Hariyali Amavasya, a vibrant two-day fair is scheduled to take place at the scenic locations of Fatehsagar Ki Pal and Saheliyon Ki Bari. This year, a significant announcement has been made by the Corporation's Revenue Committee Chairman, Arvind Jaroli. In order to ensure a fair and transparent process, a tender system has been introduced for the allocation of 705 shops and 12 swings. Notably, the tendering process will be conducted online, providing convenience and accessibility to interested shopkeepers. It is imperative for participants to submit their tender applications by 4:55 pm on July 11, as no modifications will be permitted after the designated deadline. This initiative emphasizes the Corporation's commitment to a streamlined and efficient approach in organizing the fair, fostering a vibrant marketplace for both participants and visitors alike.

On the first day, everyone will have the opportunity to attend the fair, welcoming people from all walks of life. However, a notable change will transpire on the second day, as exclusive entry will be granted solely to women.  Mayor GS Tank and Deputy Mayor Paras Singhvi have provided special directives concerning the placement of temporary swings and stalls, designating specific areas marked by the Municipal Corporation within the fairgrounds. These instructions signify the dedication of the city's administration in ensuring a well-organized and enjoyable experience for all attendees during this remarkable event.

The Corporation has acknowledged the existence of certain challenges and shortcomings in the traditional open bidding process, particularly concerning the involvement of contractors and shop operators. To address this issue, the introduction of online bidding has been implemented. This digital platform aims to foster transparency and accountability, mitigating the risks associated with unfair practices. The incorporation of online bidding serves as a mechanism to minimize such influences, ensuring a fair and impartial distribution of shops and stalls.
