In Udaipur, Rajasthan, a manager from the Oberoi Udaivilas hotel has taken legal action by filing a complaint with the police. The complaint revolves around an alleged fraud incident where a man is accused of deceiving the hotel and causing a financial loss of Rs 20 lakh.
The hotel manager, Ravinder Singh, explained that a man named Shahenshah Sharif booked three rooms at the Oberoi Udaivilas on January 6, 2024. Shahenshah Sharif checked into the hotel on January 8 and then checked out on January 11. This sequence of events forms the basis of the complaint filed by the manager against Sharif for an alleged fraudulent activity resulting in a financial loss of Rs 20 lakh for the hotel.
The Oberoi Udaivilas, known for its luxurious accommodations and exquisite service, has become the victim of this unfortunate incident. The police are actively working to gather information and evidence related to the case in order to determine the validity of the claims made by the hotel manager.
Shahenshah Sharif showed the hotel a receipt claiming he paid 11 lakh rupees (around $13,000) online for the three rooms he booked. Additionally, he bought jewelry from the hotel worth 6 lakh rupees (about $8,000).
On January 11, Shahenshah Sharif left the hotel, saying he was going to the hospital, but he didn't come back. When the hotel staff tried calling him, he didn't answer. The staff also contacted Sharif's friends, who mentioned they were trying to reach him too but couldn't get a response. Sharif's companions revealed that he had informed them about coming to Udaipur for a wedding. This information adds to the mystery surrounding Sharif's sudden departure from the hotel.
When the hotel staff looked into Sharif's bank account, they discovered that he hadn't made any online payments for the hotel rooms, contradicting the receipt he had shown earlier.
