It is imperative that people follow Covid appropriate behaviour.

A study done by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reveals that 76.2% of Rajasthan’s population has antibodies against Covid. This also shows that the 2nd wave was extremely aggressive in the state. It may be noted that Madhya Pradesh ranks on top with 79 percent population having antibodies against the virus.

In the 4th round of National Sero-Prevalence Survey conducted by the ICMR, blood samples of 1226 people were taken from different parts of the state out of which 934 were found sero-positive. Siddharth Mahajn, Secretary of Health said that higher the sero-positivity, lesser the chances of emergence of 3rd wave. People must still follow appropriate covid behavior regularly. Kerala has the lowest sero-positivity, ICMR said. Bihar is at third position 75.9%.

Centre has advised the states to conduct state-specific sero surveys in consultation with ICMR to generate district level data on sero-prevalence as the findings would guide formulation of localized public health responses for Covid management.
