On October 2, the Western Regional Cultural Centre will host a divisional-level National Folk Festival at the Banjara Rangmanch in Shilpgram. The festival aims to highlight endangered folk arts.

Art Events

Director Mohd. Furqan Khan announced that the event is organized by the central government. It will showcase various endangered arts, including Turra-Kalangi, Kavad, Molela, Sanjhi, and Jogi singing. Experts will provide demonstrations and share insights about these traditional art forms.

The festival's workshop is free for art lovers, offering them a chance to interact with artists and deepen their understanding of these crafts.

Lithography Exhibition

Additionally, on the same day, a lithography printmaking exhibition will take place at Shilpgram. This exhibition will feature artworks created during a seven-day lithography workshop held at Bagore Ki Haveli, which concluded on Monday with the participation of 20 artists. Certificates will be awarded to all participants at the end of the exhibition.

In a related initiative, the Western Regional Cultural Centre conducted a tree plantation drive on September 30,2024, as part of the central government's "Tree Mother" campaign. Officials, staff, artisans, and artists planted 30 trees along the path leading to the Darpan Gate in Shilpgram. The public is encouraged to plant more trees, protect them, and raise awareness about the importance of greenery.
