The Rajasthan government's Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship has more than 18.4 lakh unemployed applicants on file, of whom 1.9 lakh are qualified for unemployment benefits.
The state government responded to a query posed by BJP lawmaker Satish Poonia during the Question Period in the Rajasthan Assembly on Tuesday by stating that there were 18,40,044 registered unemployed candidates as of February 21, 2023, including 11,22,090 males, 7,17,555 women, and 399 others.
According to Rajasthan State Minister Ashok Chandna, 6,22,043 candidates have benefited from the programme as of February 21, 2023. Of those, 1,90,873 eligible candidates—including 1,07,431 men and 83,442 women—are receiving unemployment benefits. The government made notice of the employment assistance camps that were set up to give the state's youth jobs.
Between January 2019 and January 2023, 1,062 employment support camps were conducted, and 1,08,890 young people benefited from them.
