Amidst all the complaints that the general public has come up with regarding registration issues on the CoWIN app, the health ministry has given clarifications which need to be looked into. The Union Health Ministry issued the clarification this Monday saying that CoWIN app is meant only for the vaccine administrators and not for the beneficiaries.

The complaints in this direction were regarding OTP, password and several glitches during self-registration. The Ministry has put an end to all the confusion stating that the app is not meant for the general masses and the website http://cowin.gov.in is where people can register themselves.

The person registering himself must enter the mobile number and choose one of the options in the photo ID drop down, the ID has to be physically presented at the time of vaccination. Other simple steps follow. And finally you will get a message saying “beneficiary successfully added”.

The registrations on the website are open till 3 p.m. for same day vaccination. There is also an option of booking appointments through walk-ins after registration. Those who are not friendly with using online booking system can approach the booking windows in government centres and common service centres.
