The swings kept in the children’s park at Town Hall have finally been removed after the concerned contractor paid the dues. It may be noted that the swings were installed at the time of Dussera-Deepawali fair.

As per the contract made for the fair between 28^th October and 11^th November, the contractor was supposed to pay certain charges which was not done by him. Municipal Corporation seized the swings and the contractor resorted to court for having his equipments released. The request of the contractor was rejected by the court. Post this, Municipal Corporation had a free hold on the swings. The swings were supposed to be removed 5 months back, but due to non-payment by the contractor they could not be removed and this was also an issue that the equipments were occupying lot of space in Nehru Baal Udhayan. Almost 60 percent of the space was covered by these swings.
