Medical experts have warned that the 3rd wave is likely to hit India by October. As per the experts, this wave will be better controlled than the last one but the threat of this pandemic is going to stay for some more time.

Some of the experts say that the pandemic will continue to stay for one more year, some say that there are another 2 years to go whereas some are of the opinion that it is a never ending cycle. Experts also have different opinions about the occurrence of the 3rd wave. As per some it is going to happen as early as August’21 and as per some it will be between November ’21 and February ’22.

There are also different opinions about children getting infected in the 3rd wave. On one hand there are experts who are of the opinion that children will not be affected by the 3rd wave; there on the other hand many say that since children under 18 years of age are more vulnerable to infections, they are very likely to get infected. It is yet to be noted that children have a good immunity but it cannot be sidelined that there is no vaccine available yet for the children.

If children are infected in this 3rd wave, the country might suffer a different kind of problem as there are very few paediatric intensive care unit beds which can prove to be quite disastrous. The country must take immediate steps to tackle this issue at the earliest and stay prepared to handle the virus infection in children.
