To enhance tourism and preserve historical landmarks, the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Diya Kumari, unveiled the ambitious Maharana Pratap Circuit project. The initiative, allocating a substantial budget of Rs 100 crore, targets the enhancement of various historical sites including Marathon of Mewar, Diver.

Marathon of Mewar, a significant historical site in the region, has been grappling with dwindling tourist footfall due to neglect and inadequate maintenance. However, with the introduction of the Maharana Pratap Circuit, hopes are high for a revival in its fortunes.

The memorial, situated amidst picturesque surroundings, boasts a striking 65-foot spherical statue of Maharana Pratap astride a horse, wielding a sword and spear. Its visibility from 800 meters away from National Highway 8 makes it a prominent landmark.

Under the new development plan, key areas such as Udaipur, Gogunda, Chawand, Kumbhalgarh, Diver, and Haldighati will be interconnected, forming the Maharana Pratap Circuit. This initiative aims to not only improve infrastructure but also highlight the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Visitors to Marathon of Mewar can anticipate a modest entrance fee, with Rs 5 for students, Rs 10 for domestic tourists, and Rs 10 for foreign tourists. The memorial complex offers various amenities including a canteen, an art gallery and an auditorium.

While previous administrations have made efforts to enhance the appearance of Marathon of Mewar, ongoing maintenance remains a challenge due to budget constraints. However, with the infusion of funds through the Maharana Pratap Circuit plan, there is renewed optimism for the site's preservation and recognition.
