According to the Tourism Department, the cumulative tourist arrivals in the preceding year amounted to 1.524 Lakh. In contrast, during the first nine months of this year, a significant 13.40 Lakh tourists have already graced the city's attractions. With the onset of the tourist season, it is anticipated that if an average of 200,000 to 200,000 tourists visit over the next three months, the total for the current year could soar to a whopping 20 Lakh by December.

Udaipur has emerged as a thriving tourist hub in recent years, captivating the hearts of travelers worldwide. This enchanting city in the Indian state of Rajasthan has seen a remarkable surge in its popularity, drawing visitors not only for vacations but also for various special occasions.

The wedding season is upon us, and this is expected to further boost tourism in November and December. Initially, we anticipate an influx of domestic tourists during Diwali celebrations, and shortly after, the wedding season will kick off, with destination weddings becoming increasingly popular. Following that, in December, both domestic and international tourists will flock to the city for year-end vacations and weekend getaways from all corners of the country and the world.

Tourists are already making reservations for December, and there's a noticeable uptick in bookings at five-star hotels. Previously, these hotels had occupancy rates of around 40%, but now, they have surged to 60%. Experts in the hotel industry suggest that in December, it is highly anticipated that virtually all categories of hotels will be fully booked. It is worth noting that those who delay their reservations may struggle to find available rooms at hotels.

Those involved in the tourism industry are predicting substantial growth for this season, potentially even several times higher than usual. Handicraft markets have already observed a noticeable uptick, with sales increasing by up to 10 percent. Shikha Saxena, the Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, highlighted that the initiation of train services from Ahmedabad and the onset of the wedding season have contributed to the surge in tourist numbers.

What truly sets Udaipur apart is its transformation into a favored destination for pre-wedding shoots, marriages, and grand events. The city's regal charm, combined with its luxurious hotels and resorts, offers the perfect setting for couples looking to celebrate their love in a royal fashion. The romantic ambiance and splendid venues make it a dream location for weddings, with ceremonies often taking place in the palatial settings of Udaipur's heritage properties.

The daily occurrence of business and corporate meetings in the city carries significant economic impact. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the number of foreign tourists will rise during the tourist season. Notably, the tourist season commences on September 27th, coinciding with World Tourism Day. Prior to this, the month saw a number of festivals and celebrations, including Krishna Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi.

Udaipur has become a hotspot for international events, conferences, and film shoots, attracting a global audience. The city's appeal extends beyond its historical significance, as it seamlessly combines tradition with modern amenities, making it an ideal choice for hosting large-scale gatherings and celebrations.
