Power Cut

In response to the escalating electricity demand in the state, Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam has devised a comprehensive plan to address supply challenges. The power shortage has prompted a strategic approach, leading to scheduled power cuts across industrial sectors served by DISCOMs. Under this plan, industries around the lake region are expected to experience weekly power cuts. Commencing every Friday, the power cuts are slated to occur from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM in the Udaipur industrial area. The city's industrial zone, which boasts a substantial electricity load of 35 MW, will be subject to these temporary supply interruptions.

Meanwhile, rural areas have been grappling with electricity supply disruptions due to technical issues plaguing the 400 KW transformer situated in Chittorgarh District. As efforts are underway to rectify this situation, Udaipur is taking a proactive step by prioritizing electricity supply to agricultural connections during daylight hours. The activation of water motors for irrigation purposes has intensified the electricity load during the day, necessitating its distribution throughout the night.

Adding to the challenges, recent rainfall in the Udaipur region has further contributed to electricity consumption. While the state endeavors to manage the growing demand and stabilize the power supply, these measures are anticipated to provide short-term relief.

Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam's decision to implement a structured power-cut plan underscores the gravity of the electricity demand-supply imbalance in the region. As stakeholders collaborate to find long-term solutions, these temporary adjustments aim to mitigate the immediate impact on industries and rural communities alike.
