Udaipur RAS Officer Succumbs To Dengue

Taru Surana was under treatment at a Chennai hospital for 'rare case' of dengue

Udaipur, October 5, 2024 - Taru Surana, Udaipur Rajasthan Administrative Service officer, passed away this morning, October 5, 2024, due to dengue while she was under treatment at a Chennai hospital. Surana was 42 years old.

According to reports, Surana had persistent fever since September 6 and was later diagnosed with dengue. She was admitted to Geetanjali Hospital, Udaipur, on September 13, but when her health did not improve she was airlifted to a hospital in Chennai on September 18.

According to the doctors of MGM Hospital in Chennai, hers was a rare case of dengue because she did not have very low platelet count. She spent 17 days in the Chennai hospital before passing away this morning.

Her service in the State included Assistant Collector in Rajsamand, SDM in Amet, Rajsamand, SDM in Gadhi, Banswara, SDM in Railmagra, Rajsamand, Deputy Director in Women and Child Development Department, Udaipur. She became RAS officer in 2012.
