The escalating prices of diesel and petrol in Udaipur have saw a noticeable shift in the mode of goods delivery, with an increasing reliance on e-rickshaws. Over the past two years, the sales of e-rickshaws designed for cargo transportation have increased. This rise in preference for e-rickshaws can be attributed to the economic advantages they offer amidst the challenging fuel cost scenario. Businesses and individuals alike are finding these electric-powered vehicles to be a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for transporting goods within the city.

In the previous year, Udaipur witnessed the sale of 91 e-rickshaws. Notably, this year has seen a significant rise, with the number reaching 119. This upward trend is mirrored in the sales of passenger e-rickshaws as well. Last year, the district saw the sale of 22 passenger e-rickshaws, and in the current year, this figure has doubled to 43 vehicles. The surge in e-rickshaw sales indicates a growing preference for these electric vehicles, both in the general market and specifically for passenger transportation.

The rising popularity of e-rickshaws not only aligns with economic considerations but also contributes to a sustainable and eco-friendly transportation landscape. As concerns about fuel costs persist, it's likely that this trend will continue, reshaping the dynamics of cargo transportation in Udaipur.

Conversely, during the current year, a total of 1166 passenger rickshaws and 265 petrol/diesel-powered goods-carrying autos have been sold. These figures clearly indicate a swift rise in the demand for goods e-rickshaws. In response to this trend, numerous companies have introduced e-rickshaws into the market, accompanied by diverse offers and promotions. With these advancements, a rise in their popularity is expected in the times ahead.
