Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has launched vehicle recall portal on the Parivahan website.

An investigation will be conducted after the complaint is registered.

Have you bought a vehicle, drove it for some time and suddenly found out that there is some manufacturing defect in the vehicle which needs attention? The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced a new initiative on the Parivahan website in this regard.

The vehicle owners will now be able to register complaints online regarding any manufacturing defect they come across. The only thing to be kept in mind is that the vehicle must not be more than 7 years old. The Ministry has launched vehicle recall portal and any complaint regarding the vehicle can be registered directly with the government.

This portal has already come into effect from 1st April’21. The owner will first be required to register the complaint. Based on this complaint, the Ministry will conduct screening, investigation and analysis of the issue and recall the vehicle if the need arises.

The issues can vary from a faulty component or any software issue that can pose as risky to road safety. This development is quite a welcome move.
