-In the next 2 to 3 days, minimum temperatures are very likely to remain below normal in north-west India.

-Snow in the west part of Himalayas has resulted in tremendous dip in minimum temperatures.

Spine chilling winter has been predicted for the next 2 to 3 days as snowfall in the Himalayas has caused the temperautres to dip to a tremendous extent.  Kashmir has already been gripped by the harshest winter period freezing the water bodies. It may be noted that the famous Dal Lake is already frozen. Masses have been warned not to walk on the frozen lake.

Snowfall in the west part of Himalayas has brought spine chilling winter to most of Northern India and it is very likely that temperatures will dip further.The Indian Met Department has alerted the masses of severe cold waves in northern India. It may be noted that severe cold wave is when the minimum temperature is 2 degrees or less. The places reeling under cold wave currently are:

Delhi: The minimum temperature in Delhi fell to 2 degrees on Thursday. Severe cold waves were experienced. Records say that the temperature in Delhi is 5 degrees below the normal at this time of the year. 

Himachal Pradesh: Himachal shivered at minus 11.4 degrees (Keylong) and minus 2.6 degrees in Kalpa. 

Jammu and Kashmir: Minus 8.4 degrees was recorded in Srinagar.

Rajasthan: On Thursday, SriGanganagar was the coldest at 0.2 degrees. Bhilwara recorded 1.8 degrees, Chittorgarh was at 3.5 degrees, Ajmer 4.8 degrees. The other areas were recorded at between 5 and 9 degrees. 

Haryana: 1.8 degrees was recorded at Narnaul(which is 3 degrees below normal). The other places in Haryana were between 3 and 4 degrees. 

Now that cold wave has been alerted for most of the parts in North India, masses must stay geared up and extremely careful. The cold waves can have a drastic effect on the health of old and aged and also children. People must take all precautions against the cold wave.
