25 Winners of the Veer Gatha Project will be invited to witness the Republic Day Parade on January 26

An emotional poem drenched in emotions of Duty Never Dies won Rushal Suthar the top prize at the National level VEER GATHA Project. The results of the same were announced on Friday, 7 January and has 25 winners from across India.

Rushal is a student of Class XII of the Seedling Modern Public School and he is one of the 25 winners of the VEER GATHA Project who will be attending the Republic Day Parade under an invite by the Ministry of Defence.

Over 8 lakh students participated in the online event, and 19,123 entries were shorlisted and uploaded by schools on the CBSE website between 1-30 November. State Boards uploaded 2,701 entries on the MyGov website. Top Six entries in each of the 3 categories (Class 3-5; 6-8; 9-10) and seven entries in the senior (11-12) were selected. Rushal won the first prize in the senior category for his submitted poem. Rushal is also the onle student from Rajasthan to get the Veer Gatha award recognition at National Level.

The VEER GATHA Project

Dedicated to winners of the Gallantry Awards in India, this project is conceived by the Union Ministry of Defence in partnership with Ministry of Education and MyGov to generate awareness regarding the Gallantry Award winners.

The event included participants submitting their entries in the form of Poems, Paintings, Essays, Multi-Media Presentations. The participation was invited from all schools under the state boards and CBSE. Students were divided in 4 class-wise categories and 25 entries were selected from the above submissions. The winners will be given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 by the Ministry of Defence and will be officially invited to be a part of the Republic Day ceremony.

To increase awareness among school students about the Gallantry Award winners of our country, the Ministry of Defence, through its field organisations, Army, Navy and Airforce, organized numerous virtual/face-to-face awareness programmes/sessions of one hour duration for schools across the country. During these interactive sessions, queries of students were answered and short videos/PPTs/ documentaries/brochures and various other resource material were shared with students.
